Georgie

Mein Strickkörbchen füllt sich wieder - langsam, aber stetig. Das Rückenteil des Strickmantels für Freundin F. ist fertig, aber das Strickbild gefällt mir nicht, also werde ich es wieder aufribbeln und mein Glück mit anderen Nadeln versuchen.
Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich zwei Knäuel Lana Grossa Babykid in einem schönen gedeckten Grünton gekauft. Am Wochenende habe ich angefangen, einen Schal daraus zu stricken, wegen des Mohairanteils sollte das gute Stück simpel gestrickt werden. Da die Lauflänge erheblich ist, musste ein wollfressendes Muster her, das die Fluffigkeit des Garns nicht mindert. Also habe ich das gute alte Patentmuster gewählt.

My knitting mood is coming back to me, slowly but steadily. I already finished the back piece of the coat for my friend F., but I don’t like how the stitches turn out. I think, I will frogg it and knit it again with different needles.
A couple of weeks ago I mindlessly bought two balls of Lana Grossa Babykid, a blend of kid mohair with viscose – very soft, very fluffy. I decided to use the yarn for a scarf, a simple, basic scarf – because of the mohair. The yardage is quite amazing, so I wanted to knit a pattern which uses a lot of yarn for the single stich and at the same time ensures the fluffiness. I choosed the good old brioche stitch.

Nachdem die andere Berliner Strickerin die andere Berliner Strickerin ihr OK und damit grünes Licht signalisiert hat, habe ich mit GEORGIE begonnen. Dieses Projekt wird mich wahrscheinlich die nächsten hundert Jahre begleiten, denn wenn ich alle Zunahmen geschafft habe, sind beim Rückenteil, Größe M, lumpige 172 Maschen auf der Nadel. Ich stricke das Jäckchen aus Alpaka von Drops, das ich im vergangenen Jahr in Oslo gekauft habe.

After the other Berlin knitter gave her permit, I started to knit the back of GEORGIE. This project will keep me busy for the next hundred years: after all increases I’ll have 172 stitches on the needle. (size m!!!) I’m knitting the cardigan with Alpaca from Drops, which I bought in Oslo last year.

Naja, zumindest muss ich mir in nächster Zeit nicht überlegen, was ich stricken will!

Well, at least this project keeps me busy and I don’t have to think about projects I want to knit!

Die Vorschau auf das Buch von Kim Hargreaves ist auf ihrer website zu sehen. Drei Modelle daraus (GEM, FLOURISH, PRECIOUS) die aus älteren Kollektionen stammen, hatte ich bereits geordert und gestrickt, bzw. gehäkelt. EMILY gefällt mir ganz gut - aber der Rest gehört leider in die Kategorie Loch-und -Rüschen-Kimmie, mit der ich mich noch nie anfreunden konnte. Macht nix, vielleicht ist das nächste Buch in dem schlichten Kimmie-Stil gehalten, den ich so sehr liebe!
