Simone de Beauvoir

Von keiner anderen Schriftstellerin habe ich so viele Bücher gelesen wie von Simone de Beauvoir.
Kurz vor dem Abi entdeckt, hat sie mich viele Jahre begleitet - wobei ich vielen ihrer Thesen durchaus mit kritischer Distanz gegenüberstand und stehe, und mir durchaus bewußt war, dass ihre Bücher sprachlich nicht mit ihrem enormen intellektuellen Niveau mithalten konnten.
Ihr Tod hat mich seinerzeit tief getroffen....
When I discovered Simone de Beauvoirs books in the age of 17, I immediately was deeply engaged to her thoughts. For a couple of years, her books had been a permanent companion - although I disagreed with some of her thoughts, to which I kept sceptical distance.
I was conscious about the fact that the intellectual standard was much higher than the literary standard, but I never ever read as many books from another female author!
When she died in 1986, I was heartstricken.
